FY2020-2024 Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing

The Municipality of Penn Hills is an entitlement community under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG). In accordance with the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, each entitlement community must “affirmatively further fair housing.” In order to demonstrate that an entitlement community is “affirmatively furthering fair housing,” it must complete an Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice which identifies any barriers to fair housing choice and what steps it will take to address the identified barriers and impediments.  Copies of the DRAFT are available at the Planning Department or it can be mailed to you upon request.  The date of the public hearing has yet to be determined.

FY2020-2024 Five Year Consolidated Plan

The Municipality of Penn Hills anticipates receiving a CDBG Entitlement Grant of $723,655.00 for FY2020.  In order to receive these funds, the Municipality of Penn Hills must prepare a Five Year Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan for the use of CDBG funds.  Copies of the DRAFT are available at the Planning Department or it can be mailed to you upon request.  The date of the second public hearing has yet to be determined.

SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans

Governor Tom Wolf today announced the availability of low-interest loans for small businesses and eligible non-profits in all 67 counties in Pennsylvania through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loans offer up to $2 million in assistance and can provide vital economic support to small businesses to help overcome the temporary loss of revenue they are experiencing. These loans may be used to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable and other bills that can’t be paid because of the disaster’s impact.

The interest rate is 3.75% for small businesses without credit available elsewhere; businesses with credit available elsewhere are not eligible. The interest rate for non-profits is 2.75%.
