The Municipality of Penn Hills is soliciting comments on an update to their Pollutant Reduction Plan (PRP) for the Thompson Run and Plum Creek Watersheds. The Penn Hills’ Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit requires Penn Hills to develop a PRP to discuss methodologies to reduce sediment and phosphorus and make this plan available for public review and comment. The PRP is available for review at the Penn Hills Public Works Office – 6600 Leechburg Road, Verona, PA 15147 – Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to3:00 PM.
The purposed of the PRP is to discuss the methodology used by the Municipality to reduce or eliminate the sources of Sediment and Nutrients to meet water quality standards. Comments on the draft plan must be filed in writing, to the attention of Scott Andrejchak, Municipal Manager, no later than 30 days after the publication of this formal notice.
Comments should be clearly marked “PRP Comments” and either mailed, hand delivered or discussed during the comment period at a public meeting. All comments which are mailed or hand delivered should be delivered to the Penn Hills Public Works Office, at the address listed above.
The Municipality will also accept public comments at the November 16, 2020 council meeting.
